[chromium-discuss] Chromium load driver?

Good day,

Not sure if this is cause for concern.
This Zonealarm popup emerged (see attachment) when I was not even running
the chromium browser.
Hoping this is some normal background behavior.
If possible can someone confirm this or point me to where I can get this
question answered?

There are (at least) two options -
1. You installed a Chrome application (from the Chrome web store) that uses
the "background" permission and that makes Chromium run in the background
and perhaps sometimes do something with the GPU. When you allow (push)
notifications from websites in Chrome (Chromium needs an API key for that
to work), it also makes it run in the background.
2. Something you installed/downloaded also sneaked some malware that
bundles a rogue Chromium into your machine.

If ZoneAlarm (in the screenshot, it looks like a highly unprofessional
application, perhaps even malware? :P) can tell you which "Chromium" (that
is, what is the path of that Chromium) tried to load the driver, it might
reveal the right option from above.
